Summer 2011 part 1-

MEMORIAL DAY

We went to the Memorial Day parade in our town.  I'm not sure what happened with Cam's head getting cut off in this picture......I was trying to get all the kiddos and wasn't paying attention if Cam was all the way in the picture.. oops, sorry Cam.

These ladies were our favorite!!

We headed over to Culvers for lunch and ice cream!!

We had a picnic with friends at the splash park.  The water ended up being shut off but the kids had fun on the playground just as well.

Easter 2011

We started off our Easter weekend as we usually do, we headed to the stadium for the annual Eggstravaganza!  This year these three got to be together in their hunt.

Jake and Jack.  These two can be trouble!

When Charlie's turn came up she started off so great, then she caught a glimpse of the Easter Bunny and took off running in the other direction!  When I finally go her focused again on the goodies she still kept one eye on that furry bunny.

I always anticipate getting a great picture of the kids in their Sunday Easter clothes but I don't think it ever works out.  Jake was already undressed by the time I came into the house from church and Alex and Charlie were in no mood for a photo shoot.  I guess that's what happens when you have church from 2-5.

Surprise!!!

For my Dad's birthday this year we surprised him with a visit!  We picked up Aunt Kate and cousin Mo and headed down the road.

Don't let this picture fool you, they all slept for about 3.5 seconds. No joke.

It was also Katie's birthday so we did a little of what both her and Dad wanted to do.  Dad chose hiking with the grandkids.

Kate chose frozen yogurt!

They both chose to swim!!!

Cousin Mo

Birthdays

Cameron, Charlie and I all have birthdays in April.  Mine was such a busy Saturday full of events we didn't take any pictures.  I videoed most of Charlie's day but here are a few pictures.

Her favorite part of helping with the cupcakes.

Chipotle is Charlie's favorite place to eat!

The loot she scored!!

I guess this was the only picture I got of Cam's birthday, being the parentals is just one of the perks :)

Jake

Jake had a preschool fieldtrip to the zoo.  When I went with Alex on the same fieldtrip not very many months before, she wanted NOTHING to do with feeding the giraffes.  Jake was ALL over it!

LOVE this picture! The giraffe had just wrapped his tongue around his hand.  I wasn't quick enough with the camera.

This is his teacher trying to talk him into touching the stingrays.  He wasn't going for it :)

Preschool graduation!! I can't believe my little Jaker is going to be a big Kindergartener!  He has grown up so much in the last 6 months.  My heart breaks to think he won't be my side kick during the day, but he is ready and I know he will follow in his sisters footsteps and be awesome at school!

Teacher Mrs. Candace

Jake was in T-ball this season and loved every minute!  I was a little hesitant signing him up, I thought he might get bored.  He was very attentive and loved every part of the game!  His favorite part was to hit the ball.  He just looked ADORABLE in his outfit!

His little arms would go faster than his little legs!

San Diego 2011

In February we took our first real trip just as a family.  We went to Legoland and the beach in San Diego.  The kids had a ton of fun seeing all of the fun things at Legoland.

This was the kids favorite ride.  They could squirt people passing by, when they wouldn't expect it.  I think by the look on Cam's face he enjoyed is as well!

This pic is for the Hyers out east!!  We love and miss you!!

After this ride Jake said 'Woah, that made my tummy jump really high!'

Not competitive at all :)

This was the end of the day and both look a little tuckered out eh?

The next day we went to Sea Life Aquarium which is a part of Legoland.  Charlie would just run around screaming 'Fifies!! Fifies!!!'  Needless to say there weren't many people that stuck close to us.

Charlie LOVED the Nemos!

Later that day we went to the beach.  I have to say if this is all we did the entire trip the kids would have been plenty satisfied.  We will be making a trip just for the beach soon enough.  They played hard!  It was still a bit chilly but the surfers were out and Jake wanted to know why they could get in the water and he couldn't.  Trying to explain what a wet suit is for wasn't registering.

He couldn't help it!  The water was freezing but he just inched his way in inch by inch.
