Sun, water, girls night and Sunday

There is a need for sunglasses when you live in Arizona, Jake has let us know this everytime we get in the car and the sun is shining in his face. We purchased some sunglasses and you will rarely see these two without them on.

We had a Memorial Day pool party/barbeque at some friends house yesterday. There is nothing like good friends and good food on Memorial Day!

Relaxing on the grass

She wouldn't hold still enough for me to get a good picture

He wouldn't take these goggles off even outside the pool, he would run around and yell "go go transformers!" Not sure where he got it from but it was pretty funny.

Cameron and Jake went to Father's and Son's campout last weekend and me and the girls had a great time with some friends and came home and watched a movie together in bed. As Alex would say, "We had so much fun! I got to stay up really REALLY late!!"

This was an attempt to take Charlie's picture in her cute Sunday dress but she wasn't having it!

Then she gave in and gave us a smile!

One Month...

How has it been a month?! Days are hours now that Charlie has been born. It's crazy how my days can be filled with so little but yet can be so full at the same time. This little gem is such a sweetheart, we cannot get enough of her. She is smiling and no it's not gas! She has also started to coo a little when she can focus enough to tell you are talking to her. Alex is a little mini mom and Jake just loves on her all day and makes sure I know when she is crying (he even does a mimic cry, hilarious!).

One month stats:

10.1 Lbs

21 1/2 inches

Simply beautiful...

Words can't describe how excited I am about these beautiful pictures! My friend Erika the amazing photographer took these of Charlie a couple of weeks ago. Erika was a champ even when Charlie decided to be just a little difficult and did her business on just about every prop. We were both sweating by the end but it was all WAY worth it in the end, what awesome pictures to show for it. Thanks E!!

Sweet Pea...

She is oh so sweet! Look at those cheeks, don't you just want to eat em? I do all day! We are at three weeks now and she is still sleeping like a champ, we put her to bed at 10 the other night and she woke up at 3 and then not again until 7! Not all nights are this way, but we are not complaining, she is a great baby!

(PS: A special thanks to cousin Emma for the cute clothes!)

Torture and Who's Child is This?

It has been determined after having a hacking cough for the last five months Jake has asthma. Poor kid didn't have a chance with so many of my family members that also have it. Doesn't he look like he's being tortured? The treatments last about 10-15 min and he has to have them every 4-6 hours if he's coughing. It's been challenging to get a 3 year old to hold still that long but reading books during seems to help. It has improved his cough and for that his sleep deprived mom and dad are grateful.

We still haven't figured out who this chick looks like. Any guesses?

Mommyhood...

Some reasons I love being a mom:

Everyday is an adventure

Everyday is different

To hear those little words like "ganks" & "I lub you"

Spending time watching movies and eating popcorn

Feeling needed

Hearing silly sayings all day

Getting random hugs and kisses

Listening to my kids pray

Being someone to run to when sad or hurt

Hearing the sweet word "Mommy?"

Brushing little teeth clean

Seeing my kids learn something new

Getting snuggles

To some these aren't so glamorous things but sure make for a glamorous life for me.

My mom is the greatest! She would do anything and drop everything to help out one of her kids. She is constantly driving or flying from place to place to be there for one of us. I sometimes wonder if she will ever have her own life. Through my younger years I didn't appreciate the hard work and dedication she always gave. If there is one thing I hope to learn from my mom it is to be selfless. Being selfless to me is always putting others needs above your own, in other words just being a mom. I also have to say that I have to have one of the best mother-in-laws because she raised such a great son that has become the most wonderful husband and father. I would put a picture of her but she seems to be sneaky enough to avoid being caught by the flash :)
Happy Mothers Day!

Summer Fun Overload...

We have done some fun things to start off our hot summer here in AZ. A couple of days after baby Charlie was born and Cam was off work, Grandpa K and him took the kids to the zoo for some needed fun. Alex LOVED the petting zoo.

Jake was REALLY confused on why the deer got to pee on the ground and nobody said a word about it.

Jake loves his Grandpa K!

I didn't think the kids would like to be up so high but the boys said they LOVED it.

I'm not sure who is more worried about the giraffes tongue Cam or Jake?

Our zoo just got a new aquarium and who knew Arizona had penguins?

Jake wouldn't turn his back to the animals, he would walk away backwards. Cam finally got him to turn for a picture. Love the face!

Me and the kids got out of the house to do some fun things before baby C was born and the splash park was our first stop! They could play there for days!

I could only get a picture of Jake eating a cookie or on the run!

Sweet Alex

The weekend before baby came was our ward family campout. I decided the ground sleeping was not for me in my state and elected to get a pedicure instead but Cam was super dad and took the kids alone. The pictures were minimal, I'm sure it was because they were having such a great time!

Alex has always loved to camp and her favorite part is sleeping in her "bean bag" needless to say when it's time to go to sleep you will not hear her complain.
