G-ma Jane..

Grandma Jane came to visit this week. The kids and I had a fun time having her here. She just happened to be here for her birthday and I tried to talk her into going to a new biker bar that just opened up, but she settled for dinner at her new fav Chipotle and cake batter ice cream. The kids helped make pancakes with a berry smiley face and were pretty good sports while we went shopping. The trip had to come to end, but she went to help move Curt and Marissa to Sierra Vista, AZ (YEAH!!) and will be back in a couple of weeks when Grandpa comes to pick her up. Jake said the prayer last night and blessed Grandma at "wok" and when we told him she wasn't at work he said she was sleeping upstairs. We love you Grandma Jane!

These boots were made for walkin......

Cameron and Jake are going on a Father and Son campout tonight and ever since last night when we started packing and got Jakes boots out he hasn't taken them off his feet. He got so mad when I went to take them off last night before bed. He wanted to sleep in them so I thought what the heck I will come back when he is asleep and take them off. Being the mother of two and losing many brain cells I forgot and he really did sleep in them. Thanks Grandpa Kent for the great purchase!

Cereal Junkies.......

I officially call my kids Cereal Junkies! They wake up and their first words are cereal, they want a snack and it's cereal, they wake up from naps saying cereal, if I ask "what do you kids want for dinner?" CEREAL! I do try to at least throw in some healthier cereals and they don't seem to mind. Jake is the worst, he would eat cereal for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner if I let him. Is this normal? They definitely get it from their Grandpa Kent who would also eat it for every meal and probably does now that he's retired :).

Happy Birthday Niki!

Happy Happy Birthday to mi sista Niki! She is the eldest of all us crazies, and probably the most sane. I couldn't find any pictures without Brian in them, but I guess that what husbands are for right? Niki got to go to spend her Birthday at Disney World with no babies, just her and Brian. No fair! I'm hoping she had a great relaxing time without little Cole to interupt any fun! Happy Happy Bday!!!

Weekend without dad.....

Cam went out of town to San Antonio to see his brother that is going to Iraq in a couple of weeks. He and his other brother Eric got the chance to go at the same time to make it a "bros" trip. They headed out to the beach Friday with the nephews Grant and Sam and apparently Adam and boys were the only smart ones and put sunscreen on. Needless to say Cam and Eric were hurting pretty bad and will never forget the sunscreen again. It sounds like Cameron had a great time, I am so glad he got the chance to hangout with both his brothers that we don't get to see very often. On the homefront here in AZ me and the kids were left to fend for ourselves with our favorite dinner spaghetti and ice cream every night! Friday we went out to the Scottsdale mall and did some birthday shopping for my sistas (sorry for the late presents girls!) and in return for letting me go to a few stores I took the kids to their favorite mall playground and got a PB Loco go bananas parfait to share. Friday night we all snuggled in my bed and watched Nanny McPhee (really quite good) and then off to bed. Saturday we were all pumped up to have a picnic and go out to a splash park that is about 25 min away, but when we got there the water was shut off. We decided to at least have fun on the two playgrounds they have there and still have a picnic. The Smiths joined us so the kids didn't seem to mind, they ran through the sprinklers that were on in a nearby grass area and that seemed to satisfy their needs. Saturday night we watched some more movies and just relaxed. We did alot of coloring and alot of just being silly, but we now miss daddy and are ready for him to come home!

Happy 22nd Bday Kate!!

Katie shares a birthday with my dad, cousin and my great grandma Ivie! Wow, that is alot of people on one day! Kate is the "crazy" beautiful one of the family. She is the bravest of us all and will stop at nothing when she has her mind set on something. I love Katie in so many ways but the thing that sticks out the most to me is that she has the BIGGEST heart. She will do anything for anybody no matter the cost. She is the fashionista of the fam and keeps us all hip and glam. We love you Kate and hope you had a great day!!!

Happy 50th Dad!!

My dad turned 50 this last weekend! I couldn't ask for a better dad, he has always been one of my very best friends. My dad always has a new blonde joke or a "really" cool story that he has to tell that of course is never exaggerated :). He sold his farm this year and for the first time in over thirty years has nothing to do. (We hope this means alot more visits to Arizona) We tease him that he could be the greatest Wal-Mart greeter there ever was, or maybe try to be that golf pro he has always wanted to be. He's the life of the party, the glue that holds us together, and the amazing example of what I hope I can be when it comes to service. Happy 50th dad!

Summer is here?

I have seen some blogs lately of people wondering when Spring will come. It has come and gone in Arizona!!! Geez, it seems that we had some really nice weather in the mid seventies not too long ago and now the forecast today was supposed to be 94! Woa!! What happened to staying in the eighties for a bit? I love this place up until about June-October. When you start sweating bullets while walking to the mailbox when it is not even a half a block away you know it's about to get fierce! (I love that word after watching Project Runway!)
The kids took advantage of the nice weather and ran through the "rainbow" sprinkler yesterday. I remember when me and my siblings used to run through the same sprinkler (mind you, it was probably July or August.) We will try to be grateful we are not like you folks in Utah and Idaho who still have snow and enjoy our weather, but's it gets hard thinking that it's not even May yet and we have hit the 90s. What will July and August bring?

Birthday Shout Out!

Happy Birthday to my hunky husband today! He turns 28 and we love him so much!! He is the best husband and the greatest father in the world! He couldn't get any cooler according to the kids, they run and jump and scream whenever he walks in the door, he could be coming out of the bathroom and they still scream and get excited. He works really hard to provide for his family and we recognize and admire him for that. The greatest thing about Cameron is the way he keeps the rest of us laughing. His mom always said he was the perfect child (I'm not sure there is such a thing Jane :) . We all love him for his silliness and the way he can bring so much fun into the room when he's around. I couldn't ask for a better best friend!!

"Hold you"........

We have been out of commish for awhile. My parents and Cris came to visit last weekend, and Cam was sick when they got here, and by Friday night Jake was in full blown flu mode. It was really sad because he wasn't his crazy, funny self. After all the throwing up and high fevers he still is looking like the picture and rarely gets off the couch, and only does when he wants "Hold you," and "juicy." I am a little worried, the kid has not really eaten anything since Saturday and I have tried everything from doughnuts to goldfish (which if anyone know Jake they are his favorite.) I hope this little guy gets back to his silly self soon, I miss him!
