"Bob bob"

We hoped for the best as Jake went in to his two year checkup yesterday. He did awesome. He was absolutely mesmerized by all the tools they used to check his ears, and nose etc. It came time for him to get his shot and it just breaks my heart to have to hold little ones down like that and look into their eyes and see the questions like "what are you doing to me mommy," and "why did you bring me here." He didn't even cry. He just got a little red in the face and when he looked down and saw that he had a SpongeBob bandaid, he went crazy with delight! He couldn't stop talking about it on the way home. He kept saying "bob bob mom, where did bob bob go?" Then he would pull down his pants and say "Here it is mom! Here is bob bob!" It was hilarious! When Cam came home later "bob bob" was the first thing he showed him. When morning came we had a little saddness. Jake looked down when I went to give him a bath and his bandaid was hanging half off. He kept trying to stick it back on. I hurried and distracted him and pulled it the rest of the way off and threw him in the bath. When I pulled him out to get him dressed he immediately said, "Where bob bob mom?" He then saw the bandaid sitting on the counter and tried to put it back on. I tried to explain that it didn't have any stick left to it. Yeah right, try telling that to a two year old? So, we did the next best thing and taped that sucker right back on. Today he still pulled his pants down every once in a while and showed Alex or I and it just makes him so happy. So, I guess letting my kids watch a really dumb show, that I probably shouldn't, did somewhat of good.
